乐队在位于洛杉矶的The Pass工作室与制作人格雷格·非德尔曼（英语：Greg Fidelman）共同制作了此张专辑。专辑之封面及曲目列表于2010年1月6日在乐队的MySpace页面公开。此专辑 Snakes for the Divine则于同年2月23日由E1音乐发行。

主题

在一次访谈中，马特·派克说道：“标题‘Snakes for the Divine’基于的前提是，亚当与夏娃不是地球上所出现的第一批人类，且亚当有一个名为莉莉斯的爬虫作为妻子。他们才是首先出现的两个带有爬行动物DNA的人，且创造了三四维之间的可变形人类——阿努纳奇，和现在的人类自己。最终，在古美索不达米亚，这促生了组织光照派。几千年以来，这个组织一直在做诸如选择国王、控制媒体、控制银行之类的事。但这些只是理论上的，我想基于这个传说，能创作一首伟大的金属歌曲，所以我写出了这首专辑。这主题就是这张专辑创作的背景。”[1]
