普里特·巴塔
普里特·巴塔（英語：Prit Buttar）是一位英國的全科醫生和歷史學家，撰寫了12本關於第一次和第二次世界大戰東線戰場的歷史著作，還撰寫了兩本小說[1][2]。

職業生涯
巴塔於牛津大學和倫敦大學學習醫學[3][4]，並曾於英國陸軍擔任外科醫生[4]和醫務官五年，在布里斯托爾擔任全科醫生。巴塔自2000年到2017年在泰晤士河畔阿賓頓擔任全科醫生，並在英國醫學協會的全科醫生委員會工作，他也是牛津郡地方醫療委員會的主席[3][5]。
巴塔的第一本書《普鲁士之战》受他的其中一位病人啟發。這位83歲的病人回憶了她在東普魯士作為護士的經歷，以及在第二次世界大戰結束時從蘇聯紅軍手中逃脫的經歷[5]，巴塔花了8年時間撰寫這本書[6]。巴塔的第二部著作——《巨人之间》則是對二戰期間蘇聯與德國佔領波羅的海國家的研究，探討世界大戰期間立陶宛、拉脫維亞和愛沙尼亞的經歷[5]。
巴塔的第三部著作——《帝國的碰撞》是對第一次世界大戰東線戰場的研究，全系列共出了四卷[7]。在撰寫這本書之前，巴塔花了一年時間研究柏林、維也納和弗賴貝格的檔案。在另一位歷史學家的幫助下，通曉多種語言的巴塔能夠翻譯德國檔案[8]，該系列的第二本書《德國崛起：1915年的東線》於2015年出版[9]。
巴塔曾於2023年在以歷史為主題的播客「Out of the Box with Jonathan Russo」中客串[10]。
個人生活
巴塔是印度裔英國人後裔[11]，與一名軍隊護士黛比（Debbie）結婚，兩人育有兩子，其中女兒在劍橋大學學習歷史[5][8]。
