English: Hurricane Raymond is the first major hurricane of the Eastern Pacific 2013 Hurricane Season. Raymond was a minimal tropical storm 24 hours ago and has since exhibited an impressive period of strengthening up to category 3 status. The storm has come to a halt in an area of weak steering currents and is expected to have little motion over the next day or so, and indeed, guidance no longer brings the hurricane inland. Raymond could strengthen more today and short term intensity changes will be primarily controlled by eyewall replacement cycles and internal dynamics. Regardless of the exact track and how close it gets to the coast, heavy rainfall will continue over south-central Mexico during the next few days, causing life-threatening flash floods and mudslides.
