迪斯科音乐分支流派

歐陸迪斯科 (英語:Eurodisco;有時也寫為Euro discoEuro-disco)是一種電子音樂流派,由20世紀70年代中期的迪斯科演變而來,[18]該音樂流派在純電子化、機械化和未來主義的元素中融入了歐陸流行樂,[19][20]該音樂流派浮現了很多歐洲音樂製作人和音樂家,其中有喬治·莫羅德爾馬克·塞羅內英語Marc Cerrone弗蘭克·法里安英語Frank Farian,在改編美國迪斯科音樂時也融入了歐陸流行音樂和使用最新的音樂技術,如鼓機英語drum machine電子鼓合成器,從而形成了這一流派。[21]

許多歐洲舞曲的歌詞都是用英語演唱的,儘管演唱者的母語往往不同。此外,該流派還被認為是電子舞曲最早的形式之一,[22][23]同時也被認為是後來電子音樂流派如浩室歐陸舞曲科技舞曲的先驅。

影響

到了1983年,歐陸迪斯科的影響已滲透到美國的舞蹈和流行樂領域,歐洲的製作人和詞曲作者為美國新一代的表演者帶來了靈感。儘管1979年迪斯科在美國的倒退宣告了迪斯科的 "死亡",但隨後歐陸迪斯科風格的成功跨越了搖滾、流行和舞蹈的界限,例如有Blondie的《Call Me英語Call Me (Blondie song)》和勞拉·布拉尼根的《Gloria》。[24]

在中國大陸,歐陸迪斯科通過香港DJ楊振龍Alex的混音專輯《東方荷里活明星舞會》(荷東)的傳播而普及,該專輯以楊振龍駐場的舞廳「東方荷里活明星舞會」命名。「荷東」以及後來發佈的專輯《猛士》成為了歐陸迪斯科的代名詞[25][26]

1980年,歐陸迪斯科風行於美國的越南僑民社區,被稱為New Wave,並出現了大量歐陸迪斯科歌曲的越南語翻唱英語Vietnamese diasporic music[27]
