Oophana是一个会呼吸空气的树生蜗牛,是有肺类腹足纲软体动物之下的柄眼类扭蜗牛科的成员[2][3]。本属物种皆为肉食性[4]。本属原为扭蜗牛属的亚属,其后独立出来,之后陆续有其他属从本属再独立出去;但2020年,Siriboon等人(2020)的研究发现Oophana属物种仍然是多系群,所以本属物种有可能会被重新归类[4]
