马岛猬亚目
长鼻目的一个亚目哺乳动物
马岛猬亚目(学名:Tenrecomorpha)为非洲兽总目非洲猬目下的一个亚目,包含了獭鼩科与马岛猬科,仅发现于非洲大陆赤道地区以及马达加斯加[2][3],两科于约5,300万~4,700万年前分家[3][4][5]。獭鼩科最初是作为亚科置于马岛猬科下[3],之后才提升为独立的科,与马岛猬科共同置于马岛猬亚目下,它们为半水生的肉食性动物,能透过感觉毛于水中搜寻猎物。马岛猬亚目也包含了部分已灭绝属,例如近土豚属,是外型近似现存土豚的穴居食虫动物[6]。

马岛猬总科的共同祖先被认为是于3,700万~2,900万年前[3][4][5]单次性的从非洲渡海传播至马达加斯加[7][8],并透过辐射适应占据了多样的生态位,展现了趋同演化,外型趋同的物种包括刺猬、鼩鼱、负鼠与老鼠。所有马岛猬总科的物种均具有一定程度的杂食性,并主要以无脊椎动物为食。
