戰地考古學

戰地考古學（英語：Battlefield archaeology）是考古學的一個分支學科，其主要通過研究戰地的物質遺蹟和地形以增進對曾發生過的衝突的了解。考古的戰地包括小規模衝突、圍攻、營地和訓練場。戰地考古學對戰爭遺留物件的關係和背景的研究為歷史書籍、詩歌或目擊者的記錄提供了另一種解釋，因為後者可能參雜有對該事件的偏見，也可能只是有限視角內的狹隘記錄。對這些地點的考察可以深入了解當時使用的戰術、武器改裝和戰鬥編隊。它與軍事考古學（Military archaeology）或偵察學（即地面發現的恢復和非侵入性現場勘測）並無區別。
