天兔座AK

天兔座AK是南天星座天兔座中的一颗变星。它的视星等为6.141等[3],因此,根据波特尔暗空分类法,在夜间它从乡村天空中隐约可见。这颗恒星与厕三形成目视双星:两者的角距离为97",使得即使在最佳条件下也很难用肉眼将它们分开[12]。厕三和天兔座AK都是大熊座移动星群的成员,它们在太空中有着相同的自行[6]

这是一颗天龙座BY型变星,由于恒星的活动而经历亮度的变化。差异自转导致变化周期取决于纬度活动的变化[4]。已经在天兔座AK检测到X射线发射,它位于电波源或附近[8]

对这颗变星的红外线观测显示,在24μm的波长处有大量过量。这可能是由于厕三靠近视线,或者可能存在红矮星伴星或尘埃盘。但在70μm处没有观察到过量[9]
