2019年6月，宣布制片人杰森·布伦将重拍1974年电影《女生惊魂记（英语：Black Christmas (1974 film)）》，并与Divide/Conquer的班·卡斯葛瑞夫和亚当·汉崔克斯共同制片[8]。此外，Divide/Conquer的格雷格·吉尔里特和扎克·卢克将担任执行制片人[9]。2019年6月，曾与布伦在《黑暗诗选》合作过的苏菲亚·塔卡尔（英语：Sophia Takal）签约执导该片[10][11][12]，伊莫珍·波茨、阿丽斯·香农、莉莉·多诺格、布兰妮·奥格雷迪、卡勒布·埃伯哈特和凯瑞·艾文斯加盟剧组[13][14][15][16][17]。
