艾倫·哈切爾

艾倫·愛德華·海切爾（Allen Edward Hatcher，1944 年 10 月 23 日－）是一位美國拓撲學家。

簡介

艾倫·哈切爾出生在印第安納州的印第安納波利斯。 1966 年從歐柏林學院獲得學士學位後，他前往史丹福大學攻讀研究生，並於1971年在那裡獲得了博士學位，其博士生導師為 Hans Samelson 。他的博士論文題為AK ₂ Obstruction for Pseudo-Isotopies。 之後，哈切爾去了普林斯頓大學，在那裡他在NSF的資助之下做了一年的博士後，之後又做了一年講師，再之後從 1973 年到 1979 年擔任了助理教授。 1975-76 年和 1979-80 年間，他還同時擔任了是普林斯頓高等研究院的成員 哈切爾於 1977 年稱為加州大學洛杉磯分校的教授。 1983年起任康奈爾大學教授；而現在則是一位名譽教授。

1978 年，海切爾受邀在赫爾辛基國際數學家大會上做報告。
