西蒙·亨肖

西蒙·亨肖（英語：Simon Henshaw，1960年10月7日—2020年6月9日），美國外交官，駐幾內亞大使[1]。會說英語、法語、西班牙語，基礎俄語和基礎葡萄牙語[2]。

早年

1960年生於英格蘭，1965年移居美國，1967年定居麻薩諸塞州哈佛市。1978年畢業於布羅姆菲爾德學校。1982年畢業於麻薩諸塞大學阿默斯特分校，獲文學士學位。之後，他在《哈佛郵報》工作，同時準備全國外事服務考試[3]。他還擁有國家戰爭學院理學碩士學位[2][4]。

24歲時，西蒙·亨肖通過考試，進入美國國務院工作，開始了外交職業生涯。2008年至2011年，擔任美國駐宏都拉斯大使館副館長。2011年至2013年，擔任美國國務院安第斯事務辦公室主任[2]。2013年至2018年，他在美國國務院人口、難民和移民事務局工作，2017年開始擔任該局代理助理國務卿[2][5]。2017年11月訪問緬甸和孟加拉國[6]。

2018年8月10日，美國總統唐納·川普宣布提名亨肖為下一任美國駐幾內亞大使。8月16日提交給美國參議院審議[7]。9月26日，出席美國參議院外交委員會的審議[8]。2019年1月2日，他的提名通過參議院的口頭表決通過[9][4]。2019年3月4日，西蒙·亨肖向幾內亞總統阿爾法·孔戴遞交國書[10][11]。

2020年6月9日因心臟病發作逝世[12]。
